Digital
Lighting Control and LEED |
|
|
Leadership in
Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is a
nationally accepted benchmark program for
the design, construction and operation of
high performance buildings. This voluntary
certification system is run by the U.S.
Green Building Council, and it offers a
variety of programs, including four that are
applicable to commercial buildings:
-
LEED for
New Construction and Major Renovations
-
LEED for
Existing Buildings
-
LEED for
Commercial Interiors
-
LEED
for Core and Shell
Each program offers four
levels of certification, including basic
LEED certification, LEED Silver
Certification, LEED Gold Certification and
LEED Platinum Certification. Certification
is achieved by earning points for meeting
green building standards for site
sustainability, water efficiency, energy and
atmosphere, materials and resources, indoor
environmental quality and innovation. The
following tables show how digital lighting
control from Starfield can help contribute
to LEED certification.
